Understanding HVAC health notifications is essential for efficient HVAC functionality. While GridPoint systems help our customers control their energy usage, improperly functioning HVAC units will not run effectively or efficiently. We recommend units with issues be serviced or repaired by HVAC technicians. 

Where Can I See HVAC Health Notifications?

Log in to GEM from a browser or the GEM app for iOS or Android.

In Browser

1. Select a site.

2. Go to Data > Real Time > HVAC.
3. The Health column should show in your Real Time Data view. If not, follow these instructions:
   1. Click the Choose Columns button (three (3) horizontal lines) at the top right of the page.
   2. Click the Health option in the left column and click Add then Submit.

4. The health column will show any HVAC health notifications currently impacting your HVAC units. Use the definitions in HVAC Health Notification Description below to determine the issue.

In App

1. Select a site.

2. Tap the RTD (Real Time Data) tab. Then tap where it says “Tap here to load real time data”. 

3. Tap HVAC.

4. The Health column should show in your Real Time Data view. If not, follow these instructions:
   1. Tap the Choose Columns button (three (3) horizontal lines) at the top right of the page.
   2. Tap the Health option and tap Ok.

5. The health column will show any HVAC health notifications currently impacting your HVAC units. Use the definitions in HVAC Health Notification Description below to determine the issue.

Icon	Name	Description
	Unit not drawing power or cooling	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. These units have submetering and show zero kW. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning.
	Unit not drawing power of heating	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. These units have submetering and show zero kW. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning.
	Unit not cooling	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning.
	Unit not heating	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning.
	Unit cooling but not reaching setpoint	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning. Could be due to open door/window in the zone, an undersized unit,  or another issue such as sensor location.
	Unit heating but not reaching setpoint	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Duct temp monitoring shows inadequate conditioning. Could be due to open door/window in the zone, an undersized unit,  or another issue such as sensor location.
	Zone temp above cooling setpoint	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Unit does not have submetering or duct sensors.
	Zone temp below heating setpoint	Unit is failing to satisfy setpoint. Unit does not have submetering or duct sensors.
