Setup Authenticator Apps In GridPoint Intelligence Update or Remove Two-Factor Authentication Access Issues

Two-factor authentication setup is not mandatory, but is highly recommended as an account security measure.

Setup

Authenticator Apps

To setup two-factor authentication, you will need access to an authenticator app. There are several on the market and each one provides instructions for use. Generally, your IT department contacts should have recommended authenticator apps for use.

In GridPoint Intelligence

  • Login to GridPoint Intelligence as normal.
  • If you are prompted to setup two-factor authentication, click Enroll.
    • To opt out of two-factor authentication, click Opt Out.
      • This can be changed later.
  • If you are not prompted to setup two-factor authentication and would like to do so, click the account button on the bottom lefthand side of the screen.
  • Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  • Enter your current password to enable two-factor authentication.
  • Open your authenticator app on your phone and scan the QR code.
    • If you cannot scan, click Enter Manually and follow those steps.
  • After scanning the QR code, enter the 6-digit code that appears on your authenticator app.
  • Once you have entered the proper code, you will see a message indicating two-factor authentication has been setup properly.
  • If you want to view your recovery codes or change anything about your two-factor authentication setup, enter your current password and click Submit.
    • If you are done with setup, click Cancel instead.
  • Click View recovery codes to see the codes. These can be changed or downloaded.
    • Ensure you store the codes somewhere safe that only you can find.
    • To regenerate new codes, click Regenerate backup codes.
  • Upon future logins, you will be prompted to enter the 6-digit code after entering your username and password.

Update or Remove Two-Factor Authentication

  • To view or update your two-factor authentication later, click the account button on the bottom lefthand side of the screen.
  • Click View Two-Factor Authentication Details.
    • This will allow you to make changes, regenerate or download recovery codes or remove two-factor authentication.

Access Issues

If you have any issues accessing your account after setting up two-factor authentication and do not have access to your recovery codes, you will need to contact GridPoint Support for additional steps.
