Settings Library Overview
- Settings Library provides insight into HVAC and Lighting settings for your sites. These settings can be saved and applied to multiple assets and/or sites.
NOTE: Any modifications made to a schedule or setting have an impact on all of the assets to which it is applied.

Navigating to Settings Library
- Navigate to the Settings Library page by clicking the Settings Library icon (cog) on the lefthand sidebar.
Viewing, Updating, and Creating HVAC Settings
- To view HVAC Settings, click the HVAC tab on the Settings Library page.
- Select the setting you want view or update by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the setting name.
- The following are Comfort Settings that can be adjusted:
- Primary mode: Primary comfort setting. This is generally used as an “Occupied” or “Site Hours” mode (i.e. when customers and employees are in the site and it is open).
- Secondary mode: Secondary comfort setting. This is generally used as an “Minimally Occupied” mode (i.e. when the site is occupied by site staff only).
- Closed mode: Tertiary comfort setting. This is generally used as a “Closed” mode (i.e. when the site is totally unoccupied).
Tip: Best practice is generally to minimize energy usage during Secondary and Closed modes. Check with your GridPoint Customer Success team member for more details.
- In each Comfort Setting, the following options can be adjusted:
- Heat Setpoint: The temperature that when exceeded (below the setpoint) will turn on the HVAC unit in heating mode.
- Cool Setpoint: The temperature that when exceeded (above the setpoint) will turn on the HVAC unit in cooling mode.
- HVAC Mode
- Auto: fluctuates between heating and cooling modes when needed.
- Heat: the HVAC unit will only call for heat when the Heat Setpoint is exceeded (below the setpoint).
- Cool: the HVAC unit will only call for cool when the Cool Setpoint is exceeded (above the setpoint).
- Off: the HVAC unit will be completely shut down.
- Fan Mode
- Auto: fan turns on when unit is pumping hot or cool air.
- On: the fan is always running.
- To edit the name of a setting or delete the setting, click the ellipsis next to the setting name.
- Click Edit Name or Delete Setting.
- To create a new Comfort Setting, click the new Comfort Setting icon (blue thermometer with plus sign).
- Name the setting and choose the desired settings.

Viewing, Updating, and Creating Lighting Settings
- To view Lighting Settings, click the Lighting tab on the Settings Library page.
- Select the setting you want view or update by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the setting name.
- Lighting Schedules can be adjusted by dragging the open (left) and close (right) round knobs for each day of the week.
- Clicking the Trash Can icon will allow you to delete an On schedule.
- Yellow bar indicates On times.
- Gray bar indicates Off times.
- Clicking the Clock icon will allow you to add an additional On schedule for a day.
- Multiple On schedules can be added for a day if desired.
- Example: If the site is open from 6am until 1pm, the closed from 1pm until 2pm, then open again from 2pm until 10pm, multiple On schedules will be needed (one for 6am-1pm and another for 2pm-10pm)
- Multiple On schedules can be added for a day if desired.
- Clicking the Trash Can icon will allow you to delete an On schedule.

Adding Exceptions
Schedule exceptions can be added for any single day or multiple consecutive days. These can be used for special events, such as holidays or overnight work.
- To create an exception, navigate to the bottom of the HVAC or Lighting Settings pages to the Exceptions section.
- Click the New Exception icon (blue clock with plus sign) to create a new exception.
HVAC Exceptions
- HVAC exceptions allow a site to run an alternative schedule for a day or stretch of consecutive days.
- Once the exception has been named and the date or dates have been chosen, clicking the Clock icon will allow you to add Primary and Secondary schedule(s) for a day.
- Multiple schedules can be added for a day if desired.
- Each day during the exception period will need primary or secondary schedule(s) added individually.
- After all schedules are set for the exception, click the Set Dates button.
- To update the name of the exception, click the ellipsis next to the exception and then click Edit Name.
- To delete an exception, click the ellipsis next to the exception and then click Delete Exception.

Lighting Exceptions
- Lighting exceptions allow a site to run an alternative schedule for a day or stretch of consecutive days.
- Once the exception has been named and the date or dates have been chosen, clicking the Clock icon will allow you to add On schedule(s) for a day.
- Multiple On schedules can be added for a day if desired.
- Each day during the exception period will need On schedule(s) added individually.
- After all schedules are set for the exception, click the Set Dates button.
- To update the name of the exception, click the ellipsis next to the exception and then click Edit Name.
- To delete an exception, click the ellipsis next to the exception and then click Delete Exception.
