Equipment - Refrigeration KE2 - Troubleshooting KE2 Power Issues
This article will guide you through troubleshooting power issues for the KE2 Refrigeration Controller.

Site Employee Call

- Do all the KE2 Controllers have power? (Is the display lit up?) 
- YES: What color is the indicator light to left of display? 
- If Red or Amber - create a service ticket for repair
 - If Green - system is operating properly
 
 - NO: Has the cooler/freezer system been serviced recently? 
- YES: Manager to contact service vendor and ask if the cooler/freezer was left off intentionally.
 - NO: Check breaker panel to see if breaker is tripped. 
- Create Service ticket for repair #6 self-tapping screws
 
 
 
 - YES: What color is the indicator light to left of display? 
 - Check address in GEM
 
When Tech is on site
- Check wiring terminations at IOM
 - Do all the KE2 Controllers have power? (Is the display lit up?) 
- YES: 
- Is KE2 Controller Communicating with GridPoint? 
- Check address of controller, 50 and 51 for two freezers and 52 for cooler. 
- KE2 Low Temp - hold “Back” for 3 seconds and scroll to Adr
 - KE2 Temp - hold “Enter” for 3 seconds and scroll to Adr
 
 - Check communication cables for damage
 - Check if the daisy chain has been broken - this splice can take place inside the controllers or on top of the Freezer/Cooler
 - Check the baud rate converter located near GridPoint Controller and confirm device still has power and   
wires connected (Comm 1=KE2 Chain, Comm 2=RS485 to controller). Check communication cables from baud rate converter to GridPoint device (HUB, 1204EX, EC2000) 
 - Check address of controller, 50 and 51 for two freezers and 52 for cooler. 
 
 - Is KE2 Controller Communicating with GridPoint? 
 - YES – ERROR CODE DISPLAYING 
- If Red or Amber indicator light, look up error code below and fix issue
 
 
 - YES: 
 
KE2 Low Temp Error Codes for Amber/Red Light
- AtSA = Air Temperature Sensor Alarm
 - CLSA = Coil Temperature Sensor Alarm
 - HtA = Hight Temperature Alarm
 - LtA = Low Temperature Alarm PF = Power Failure
 
KE2 Temp Error Codes for Amber/Red Light
- SSA = Shorted Sensor Alarm
 - OSA = Open Sensor Alarm
 - HtA = Hight Temperature Alarm
 - LtA = Low Temperature Alarm
- NO 
- Has the system been serviced recently? Determine why unit may have been left powered off.
 - Check breaker panels for tripped breaker for cooler/freezer
 - Check evaporator disconnect inside cooler/freezer to confirm evaporator was not turned off on accident
 - Check for coil sensor wires or any other wires in the side cabinets that may have melted or shorted out because of bad placement.
 - Check compressor cabinet for any sign of wiring changes from previous technicians attempting to put system back on time clock control
 
 
 - NO 
 
- If still receiving incorrect temperatures, replace KE2
- If customer installed, they need to replace it 
- If replaced with something GridPoint does not service, the KE2 will need to be removed from the configuration
 
 - If GridPoint installed, we will replace it
 
 - If customer installed, they need to replace it
