A schedule exception temporarily replaces a Space’s normal schedule for a set of dates, such as a holiday. With Spaces, you apply an exception to a Space, and it runs for every HVAC zone in that Space.

Creating a Schedule Exception

  1. From the site’s page, go to the Settings Library.

  1. Scroll down to Exceptions and click the clock with the + icon to start a new exception.
  2. Name the exception and select the open date and close date. This takes two separate clicks to continue to Set Dates.

  1. Add the Primary and Secondary schedules for the exception.

Applying a Schedule Exception to a Space

  1. Click the Sites button on the sidebar and select the site.
  2. Open the Spaces view, then open Space Settings for the Space.
  3. Click Add Schedule Exception and choose the exception from the dropdown. It applies to every HVAC zone in the Space.
The Space Settings page with the Add Schedule Exception dropdown open, listing the available exceptions and “Create New Exception for this Asset”. To create a new exception that applies only to this Space, click Create New Exception for this Asset.

Applying a Schedule Exception to Multiple Spaces

  1. Click the Assets button on the sidebar.
  2. Use the Filter Assets dropdown and select Show Spaces.
  3. Select the Spaces you want to update by toggling their checkboxes on.
  4. Scroll to the top and click Add Exception, then choose the exception to apply across the selected Spaces.
The Apply Bulk Action menu open over the selected Spaces, with Add Exception among the options.

Note: “The last change made is the one applied. For example, if an override is made in GridPoint Intelligence at noon and a setpoint is changed directly at the thermostat at 2pm the same day, the change made at the thermostat takes precedence.”
