Accessing Alarms in GEM

Learn how to access your site's equipment alarms in GEM

Accessing Alarms In Browser

GridPoint Energy Manager (GEM) provides alerts for site equipment, such as coolers and freezers, in the Alarms tab. These alarms can help you avoid issues, such as spoilage, caused by malfunctioning refrigeration or freezer equipment.

Accessing Alarms

Log in to GEM from a browser. Alarms are not supported in the GEM app.

In Browser

  1. Select a site or site(s).
  2. Click the Alarms tab.
  1. Select the time period you want to review.
  2. The table at the top of the page will show the following information:
    1. Active Alarms Alerts that a qualifying alarm event is currently happening.
    2. Opened During Period Alarms that started during the selected time period.
    3. Closed During Period Alarms that ended during the selected time period.
  3. Select the alarms you would like to see extra details for by checking the check boxes last column of the top table.
  4. Any alarms checked off in the top table during the selected period will show at the bottom of the page.
    1. Site ID Shows Site ID for the alarm. Helpful if multiple sites are selected.
    2. Site Name Name label for the site given in GEM.
    3. Alarm Name References the first column (Alarm) in the table at the top of the page. 
    4. Category Refrigeration or Freezer alarm.
    5. Channel(s) The type of alarm.
    6. Open Time When the alarm started.
    7. Close Time When the alarm finished.
    8. Duration Total length of alarm from open to close.
    9. Details Opens a new page that provides detailed graphing of alarm data. See image below.
  1. You can export the information using the Export All button.

Note GridPoint does not service or repair refrigerators or freezers. Failing equipment will need to be serviced by the appropriate technician. GridPoint can assist technicians by confirming connectivity and appropriate temperature levels of serviced, repaired, or replaced devices.
